Degrees

The KU School of Music offers a variety of degrees, including the Bachelor of Music in bassoon, clarinet, double bass, euphonium, flute, French horn, music composition, musicology, music theory, oboe, organ, organ in church music, percussion, piano, saxophone, trombone, trumpet, tuba, viola, violin and violoncello. Students can also receive a Bachelor of Music Education degree in music education and music therapy, the Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in theater and voice, and a variety of Bachelor of Arts degrees in music.

Our graduate program at the KU School of Music is one of the most comprehensive programs in the country. Graduate degrees include the Master of Music in accompanying, church music (choral or organ emphasis), composition, conducting (band, choral or orchestra), music theory, musicology and performance (flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, saxophone, trumpet, horn, trombone, euphonium, tuba, percussion, violin, viola, cello, double bass, opera, voice, organ, piano, carillon). The School also offers the Master of Music Education in music education or music therapy, the Doctor of Musical Arts in church music (choral or organ emphasis), composition, conducting (band, choral or orchestral), and performance. And we offer the Doctor of Philosophy in music education (music education or music therapy emphasis), music theory and musicology.
