Alumni News: Stanford Felix's book published

Stanford Felix, DMA '07 (voice), bass-baritone, authored the book Beautiful Singing: A Singer's Guide to Improving the Voice which was published this November.

Felix has performed on opera, concert, and musical theater stages throughout the United States for the last 40 years, and has been teaching voice for more than two decades. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre and Voice Performance and Doctor of Musical Arts in Voice Performance from the University of Kansas, Lawrence, and Master of Music degree in Voice Performance from the Manhattan School of Music. He has taught on the voice faculties at Texas A&M University-Kingsville, where he directed and conducted the opera workshop, and Emporia State University in Emporia, Kansas. He founded and was the Musical/Executive Director of Kansas Concert Opera and Minnesota Concert Opera. Dr. Felix is a composer of choral music and art song, and is the author of The Complete Idiot's Guide Music Dictionary, published by Penguin USA in 2010.
