Graduate Audition MUSIC

Complete your graduate application to KU, then select your instrument or degree program from the menu below for specific requirements.


The following MUSIC degree programs require an audition to the School of Music:

  • Church Music (MM, DMA)
  • Conducting (MM, DMA)
  • Performance - all instruments (MM, DMA)

ALL Piano and Voice performance applicants must submit a prescreening audition within the application system by December 1st


The following MEMT graduate programs require the admission video as noted in the MEMT Graduate Application Procedure document. 

  • Music Education (MME, PHD)
  • Music Therapy (MME, PHD)
  • Music Therapy (Graduate Equivalency)
    • Applicants without an undergraduate degree in music must also complete a separate audition to the School of Music.
    • For that audition, select Music Therapy Graduate Equivalency for specific requirements.  

Fall 2022 Audition Dates

KU School of Music will be offering both video auditions and in-person auditions for most areas. Dates for in-person auditions will be announced in October along with a form to sign up for a an audition (please check back).

Attention Piano and Voice/Opera Graduate Applicants: You must submit a video pre-screen audition via the application system no later than December 1, 2021 in order to be considered for a final admission audition.
