Jacob Dakon conducts Oregon All-State Middle School Orchestra; presents clinic to educators

Jacob M. Dakon, associate professor of music education and music therapy, traveled to Eugene, Oregon, from Jan. 15–19, 2020, to conduct the Oregon All-State Middle School Orchestra. The performance was hailed by Oregonian string educators and program organizers as “the best all-state middle school concert in recent memory.” While in Eugene, Dakon also presented a clinic to string educators at the Oregon Music Educators Association Conference entitled, “Forgetting About Right-Hand Flexibility?”. The clinic discussed strategies for developing right-hand finger and wrist motion in young string instrumentalists.
