LAWRENCE - The University of Kansas School of Music proudly presents the first performance in the Kansas Virtuosi Series for the 2014-2015 season. The Kansas Virtuosi Series showcases the world-class talents of the KU School of Music faculty artists. The event will take place at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 14 in the Lied Center Pavilion. The event is free and open to the public.
This performance of Kansas Virtuosi features KU School of Music faculty artists: John Stephens, bass; Sarah Frisof, flute; Margaret Marco, oboe; Stephanie Zelnick, clarinet; Eric Stomberg, bassoon; Paul Stevens, horn; Véronique Mathieu, violin; Peter Chun, viola; Lawrence Figg, violoncello; Richard Ryan, doublebass; Michael Bauer, harpsichord; and Erin Wood, harp.
The program consists of Ich habe genug, BWV 82 by Johann Sebastian Bach, Sonata for flute, viola and harp by Claude Debussy and Bohuslav Martinů’s Nonet. The next performance in the Kansas Virtuosi Series will take place Sunday, Nov. 16 in the Lied Center Pavilion.
