KU Chamber Singers to perform at Kansas Day at the Capitol
LAWRENCE - The University of Kansas School of Music is proud to announce the KU Chamber Singers performance at Kansas Day at the Capitol on Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. in the rotunda. The ensemble, directed by Paul Tucker, director of choral activities, will perform before Governor Sam Brownback makes his remarks.
The School of Music is grateful for the support of Reach Out Kansas, Inc., Smithyman & Zakoura, and The Zakoura Family Fund, a Fund of the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation, who made it possible for the Chamber Singers to participate. The School of Music also appreciates Senator Jim Denning and his wife Mareal, who helped to facilitate the appearance of the Chamber Singers.
Kansas Day commemorates the admission of the state as the 34th in the Union on January 29, 1861.
