KU Concert Band

Sharon Toulouse conducting

The University of Kansas Concert Band began in the fall of 2020 as a way to accommodate all students who wanted to participate in an auditioned wind band while KU kept to its class size limits due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

KUCB is conducted by Professor Sharon Toulouse. It currently meets Tuesday and Thursday evenings in the fall from 7:30 – 9:20pm.

How to Join the Concert Band

Membership in the KU Concert Band is by blind audition and is open to all qualified students at the University. Auditions take place the first week of classes in the fall and in November for the spring semester. They are heard by the conductors and the appropriate applied music Professor. Auditions consist of prepared excerpts and sight-reading. Check the audition page for more information.
