KU music student selected finalist for Gilberto Gagliardi Trombone Competition
Brian Scarborough (B.Mus.Ed. 2013) is one of three finalists selected via taped audition for the Gilberto Gagliardi Trombone Competition, sponsored by the International Trombone Association. Brian will go to the ITA convention this July in Austin, TX, to compete in the live final round adjudication. Judges included a first-call LA studio musician, the second trombonist of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra and the principal trombonist of the RAI Orchestra, Torino, Italy. This is an international competition, one of several that the ITA hosts, and students apply from literally all over the world. Brian is a student of Dr. Michael Davidson.
