KU School of Music presents spring Undergraduate Honor Recital on March 23

LAWRENCE - Nine University of Kansas School of Music students will perform in the spring Undergraduate Honor Recital at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 23 at Swarthout Recital Hall. The event is free and open to the public.

The School of Music students performing are as follows (in order of performance):

Tanner Lynn is a sophomore music education major from Lawrence. He is a student of Michael Compitello, assistant professor of percussion. Lynn will perform Variations on Japanese Children’s Songs by Keiko Abe.

Richard Adger is a junior clarinet performance major from Kansas City, Missouri. He is a student of Stephanie Zelnick, associate professor of clarinet. Adger will perform Drei Romanzen, Op. 94, 1. Nicht schnell, 2. Einfach, innig by Robert Schumann.

Jason Stetler is a junior piano performance major from Mulvane. He is a student of Scott McBride Smith, the Cordelia Brown Murphy professor of piano pedagogy. Stetler will perform Concert Étude in D-flat Major (Un Sospiro) from Trois Études De Concert, S. 144 by Franz Liszt.

Grant Morgan is a junior music education major from Shawnee. He is a student of Michael Davidson, associate professor of trombone. Morgan will perform New Orleans by Eugene Bozza.

Deborah Hass is a freshman flute performance major from Shawnee. She is a student of Sarah Frisof, assistant professor of flute. Hass will perform Fantaisie by Georges Hüe.

Noelle Olson is a junior theatre and voice major from Lawrence. She is a student of Maria Kanyova, assistant professor of voice. Olson will perform Deh Vieni Non Tardar by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

Evan Brown is a freshman French horn performance major from Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He is a student of Paul Stevens, associate professor of horn. Brown will perform En Foret by Eugene Bozza.

Benjamin Dominguez is a freshman piano performance major from East Berlin, Pennsylvania. He is a student of Jack Winerock, professor of piano. Dominguez will perform Reflets dans l’eau (Reflections in the Water) from Images, Bk. 1, L. 110 by Claude Debussy.

Calvet Young is a junior vocal performance major from Lawrence. He is a student of Genaro Mendez, associate professor of voice. Young will perform De’ Miei Gollenti Spiriti from La Traviata by Giuseppe Verdi.
