KU School of Music Faculty Virtuosi Series to present fall concert

LAWRENCE- Please join the University of Kansas School of Music for the 2012-13 Faculty Virtuosi Series, a showcase of performances highlighting the talents of the School of Music faculty musicians.

The first concert of the 2012-13 series will take place on Sunday, September 16, 2012, 7:30pm.

The performance will feature “Trio Sonata in C Minor for Flute, Oboe and Basso Continuo” by Johann Joachim Quantz; “Schilflieder for Oboe, Viola, and Piano, Op. 28” by August Klughardt; and George Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue,” featuring associate professor Steven Spooner as piano soloist on the 1924 original orchestration of this well-known work.

All concerts in this series take place in Swarthout Recital Hall and are free and open to the public. More information about the series’ ongoing concerts will be posted on the KU School of Music website at MUSIC.KU.EDU.
