KU University Band and Symphonic Band to perform Nov. 30
LAWRENCE – The University of Kansas University Band and Symphonic Band will perform at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30 at the Lied Center of Kansas.
Sharon Toulouse, assistant director of bands, will conduct the University Band featuring Quest by James Barnes, Comets in Winter Sky by Daniel McCarthy, which will be guest conducted by Anthony Messina; A Childhood Remembered by Rossano Galante, which will be guest conducted by Brooke Humfeld; The Banks of the Delaware by Stuart O’Neil, Tricycle by Andrew Boysen, which will be guest conducted by Nick Waldron; and Midnight Sleighride by Sergei Prokofiev from Lieutenant Kije Suite.
Matthew O. Smith, associate director of bands, will conduct the Symphonic Band program featuring Fantasia in G Major by Johann Sebastian Bach, which will be conducted by Messina; Visionplace of Souls by Kevin Walczyk, which will be conducted by Waldron; and Gloriosa by Yasuhide Ito.
Tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for children, seniors and students. Tickets can be purchased at the Lied Center or by phone at 785-864-2787.
