KU presents holiday Collegium Musicum Concert

The University of Kansas Department of Music & Dance is pleased to present this year’s holiday Collegium Musicum Concert on Thursday, December 11, 2008, 7:30 p.m.. in Bales Organ Recital Hall.

The concert will be a joint program between the Instrumental Collegium, directed by Dr. Paul Laird, and the Vocal Collegium, conducted by Matthew Thompson.

The Vocal and Instrumental Collegiums will perform pieces separately as well as together, with some pieces accompanied by organ, and some performed as organ solos.

The program will feature many works including “Comes, Pues enlazan tus brazos,” Bach’s “Wachet auf” (organ solo), “Tudor Revel,” a suite of 13 very short pieces performed without break, an audience participation piece to the famous German carol “Vom himmel hoch,” and much more.
