KU saxophone professor to perform Latin American music in spring recital

LAWRENCE–Vince Gnojek, professor of saxophone at the University of Kansas, will present a recital on Sunday, January 29, 2012, at 2:30 p.m. in Swarthout Recital Hall. This event is free and open to the public.

Gnojek’s recital will include the works of artists from Cuba, Costa Rica, Argentina and the United States. Composers include Aaron Bramwell, Marvin Camacho Villegas, Jose Luis Cortez, Astor Piazzolla and Javier Zalba.

“The music is complex, but beautiful, fun and energetic,” states Professor Gnojek.

Gnojek will perform on alto and soprano saxophones, and will be accompanied on piano by Holly Beneventi Page.
