Trombone Studio


Trombone students at the University of Kansas receive individualized instruction in applied lessons. In addition to developing technique and musicianship through study of appropriate literature in the applied lesson setting, trombone students participate in master classes, orchestral excerpt coaching sessions, trombone choir, and chamber music (such as trombone quartets and brass quintets). Trombone pedagogy classes are offered at the undergraduate and graduate levels. pedagogy classes are geared to assist students in diagnosing performance problems, developing trombone teaching strategies, implementing studio curriculum development, and finding instructional resources.
