James Ralston Memorial Concert

James Ralston Memorial Concert

The University of Kansas School of Music proudly presents the James "Doc" Ralston Memorial Concert at 7:30 p.m. on March 25, 2014 at at the Lied Center of Kansas, in conjunction with the KU Choirs “Joy of Singing” concert. The Ralston family and the KU School of Music are planning a fun and meaningful event to honor “Doc,” bring together many of his former singers, and enjoy an evening of his favorite choral music sung by those who knew him best.

As part of the evening’s performance, event organizers are putting together a James Ralston Memorial Alumni Choir to perform some of Dr. Ralston's "Greatest Hits," including "Fanfare For Christmas Day," selections from Orff's "Carmina Burana" and the Bach "Magnificat," Brahms "Liebeslieder Waltzes," and of course, "Witness." The alumni singers will also be invited to participate in other events surrounding the concert.

The Ralston Family has established a scholarship at KU Endowment to support students seeking a graduate degree in choral conducting. If you would like to make a contribution to this fund please visit this giving link.
