The University of Kansas School of Music Instrumental Collegium Musicum will present a fall concert entitled “The Settecento, Etcetera”
LAWRENCE-The University of Kansas School of Music Instrumental Collegium Musicum will present a fall concert entitled “The Settecento, Etcetera” on Sunday, October 21, 2012, at 7:30 PM in Swarthout Recital Hall/Murphy Hall.
The concert will feature works by Dario Castello, Claudio Monteverdi, Biagio Marini, Alessandro Scarlatti, Antonio Vivaldi, and others. A featured segment of the program will include Baroque cellists Susan Mayo, a DMA cell student at KU who teaches cello at Emporia State University, and Paul Laird, KU professor of musicology and director of the Instrumental Collegium Musicum, playing three Italian Baroque cello duets.
Members of the Instrumental Collegium Musicum include wind players Thomas Heilke, Jo Kraus, Elizabeth Sallinger, and Ann Wu, soprano Carissa Scroggins, Baroque string players Erin Fulton and Cory Reames (assistant director of the ensemble), and harpsichordist Laura Rau.
