Viola Auditions


Please note: due to Covid 19 concerns, KU School of Music will be offering video auditions in lieu of the live auditions.


Audition Requirements:

Graduate Certificate in Music Performance and MM applicants -

  • Two contrasting movements from a solo Suite, Sonata or Partita by J.S. Bach
  • The first movement of a standard concerto with cadenza OR the second and third movements of a standard concerto
  • A contrasting piece (applicant’s choice)

For DMA applicants -

Prepare a 40‐minute recital which includes at least all of the above requirements.


Complete a video audition and email link (YouTube or Vimeo) directly to the faculty member for your instrument/area.
