KU Alumni Band Weekend 2015

The 2015 Homecoming game is scheduled for the KU vs. Oklahoma game on Saturday, October 31.

KU Alumni Band Weekend
Celebrate the 41st Anniversary of the KU Alumni Band during KU's 103rd Homecoming festivities! Return to the Hill, catch up with old friends and fellow band alumni.
Homecoming Parade

The Homecoming Parade will be held on Friday, Oct. 30 at 6 p.m. on Massachusetts Street in downtown Lawrence.
Halftime Performance
On Saturday, October 31, the KU Alumni Band is invited to join the Marching Jayhawks for a halftime performance during the KU vs. Oklahoma Homecoming football game.

A detailed schedule for the Alumni Band will be available here, on the KU Band Alumni Chapter Facebook group and KU Band Alumni Chapter website after the kickoff time is announced.

If you would like to request music for the halftime performance in advance, please email Dr. Smith at maosmith@ku.edu
Since our Homecoming football game is on Halloween, Alumni Band members are welcome to perform in costume!  The members of the Marching Jayhawks will perform halftime in costume as well, for a special Halloween-themed show.
With our current budget considerations the KU Band is unable to provide lunches to the Alumni Band during the game.  Bottled water will be provided, and with the money raised last year we will be able to cover the costs for donuts, coffee, and cider at registration.  One of the future goals of our Alumni Band organization is to become self-sufficient in order to fund our own programs, and eventually assist with special projects for the KU Bands.
Alumni Reception
Join fellow alumni band members after the Homecoming Parade for a casual get together. We will gather at Dempsey’s for food and drinks.

Drum Major Reunion
: Former drum majors are invited to gather at Dempsey’s as well following the parade.

 Rock Chalk!

Just as the band you played in was supported by the people who came before you, today's and tomorrow's bands need your support. Music scholarships, band awards and other financial aid depend on the generosity of our former students and and of others who appreciate good music and good performances.

On behalf of all the students of the KU Bands, we want to express our appreciation to those whose financial support makes it possible for us to provide services and opportunities for all of the bands and band students which would not otherwise be possible.

If you enjoyed your experience in the KU Bands, please consider joining the many other former band members who now show their appreciation by making an annual contribution.

Checks should be made payable and sent to:

KU Endowment Association/KU Band
P.O. Box 928
Lawrence, Kansas 66044-0928

Please visit the KU Endowment Association » for complete information on how to support the bands. Thank you from your friends in the KU Band.
