Audition Policy

All music majors and scholarship recipients are required to audition and be available to play in Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Concert Brass & Percussion Ensemble, or Symphony Orchestra. Consequently, all music majors and scholarship recipients are expected to keep their schedules completely conflict-free until after the audition results have been posted. Top winds, brass, and percussion players will rotate semesters between the KU Wind Ensemble and the KU Symphony Orchestra.
Ensemble Auditions for Spring 2021 will be conducted virtually. All students must submit a video recording of them performing the prescribed excerpts. Students may select their recording device; a cell phone video is acceptable. Students may submit separate files for each excerpt but it must be clear that the audition was recorded in one take.

Auditions are closed for the spring. Check back in August for fall audition protocols.

Audition Excerpts for the fall semester will be posted in August.
