Series showcases the world-class talents of KU Faculty and guest artists
Lawrence– The University of Kansas School of Music proudly presents the second performance in the Kansas Virtuosi Series for the 2014-2015 season. The Kansas Virtuosi Series showcases the world-class talents of the KU School of Music faculty artists and guest artists. The event will take place at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 16 in the Lied Center Pavilion. The event is free and open to the public.
This performance of Kansas Virtuosi features KU School of Music faculty artists: Julia Broxholm, soprano; Annie Gnojek, flute (guest); Margaret Marco, oboe; Robert Walzel, clarinet; Eric Stomberg, bassoon; Paul Stevens, horn; Véronique Mathieu, violin; Richard Ryan, bass; Mark Ferrell, piano; and Michael Bauer, harpsichord.
The program consists of the Trio Sonata in E Flat, HWV 382 by G.F. Handel, Selected Songs by Richard Strauss, Duo per flauto y oboe, Op. 13 by Alberto Ginastera, and Till Eulenspiegel – Einmal Anders, op. 28 by Richard Strauss.
The next performance in the 2014-2015 Kansas Virtuosi Series will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 8 at the Bales Organ Recital Hall.
