KU Jazz Festival to present After Hours Jazz Sessions at the Oread
LAWRENCE, KS —The KU School of Music will host the 36th Annual KU Jazz Festival on March 1-2, 2013. Following the main stage concerts at Free State High School, the music will continue with the KU Jazz Festival After Hours Jazz Sessions, held at the All Seasons Den at The Oread (1200 Oread Avenue, Lawrence, KS), from 10pm-12:30am both evenings.
These jazz sessions will feature performances by the Matt Otto Trio and invited guests. Otto, a saxophonist and member of the KU Jazz Studies faculty, is one of the most prominent musicians in Kansas City. He is joined both evenings by two other in-demand Kansas City musicians—bassist Jeff Harshbarger, KU Jazz Studies faculty member, and drummer Brian Steever.
Admission to these sessions is free; a cash bar will be available. Valet parking at the Oread is available for $5.00.
The After Hours Jazz Sessions are sponsored by Reach Out Kansas, Inc., The Oread and the KU School of Music.
