KU Professor presents two sessions for National Association of Schools of Music
Larry Mallett, Professor of Music and Interim Director of Graduate Studies, was a member of the Commission on Accreditation for the National Association of Schools of Music from November 16-20, 2009, in San Diego. NASM's 600+ member institutions elect 16 Commissioners from representative institutional categories. Dr. Mallett is serving his second three-year term on the Commission in the category of doctoral institutions.
The NASM Commission on Accreditation was followed by the NASM Annual Meeting from November 21-24, 2009. Dr. Mallett presented two sessions at the annual meeting. (1) On November 21 he presented a session for 90 new NASM administrators entitled WORKING WITH FACULTY AND PROFESSIONAL AGENDAS. (2) On November 23 he presented a session for 150 music administrators on the SPECIFIC PROCEDURES FOR NASM EVALUATION.
Dr. Mallett will be chairing NASM Visiting Evaluator teams to two institutions of higher education during Spring Semester 2010. Both institutions are seeking re-accreditation in the National Association of Schools of Music.
