KU School of Music presents Holiday Vespers-on-the-Road concert at JCCC’s Carlsen Center on Dec. 6
LAWRENCE - The University of Kansas School of Music proudly presents Holiday Vespers-on-the-Road at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014 at Johnson County Community College Carlsen Center in Overland Park. The 90th Annual Holiday Vespers will feature the KU Choirs, conducted by Paul Tucker, KU director of choral activities, and Mariana Farah, KU associate director of choral activities, and the KU Symphony Orchestra, guest conducted by Sharon Toulouse, KU assistant director of bands.
The program will include Salvation is Created by Pavel Chesnokov; Rhapsody for Hanukkah by Stephen Bulla; La vergine degli angeli (The Virgin of the Angels) by Giuseppe Verdi, featuring Julia Broxholm, associate professor of voice; Fantasia on Greensleeves by Ralph Vaughan Williams and featuring Sarah Frisof, professor of flute; Harambee (A Call to Unity) by Joseph Jennings; Sleigh Ride by Leroy Anderson; Tritsch-Tratsch Polka by Johann Strauss, Jr.; O Holy Night by Adolphe Charles Adam, and audience sing-alongs.
