Wednesday, April 25, 2012

LAWRENCE- The KU Youth Chorus (KUYC) will present its annual “informance” concert on Thursday, May 3 at 5:00pm in Murphy Hall, Room 328. This concert is free and open to the public.

KUYC is a non-auditioned choir for children grades four through eight. The choir is directed by Dr. Debra Hedden, associate professor of music; doctoral students, Ashley Allen, Amy Hanson, and Debra Brown; one student teacher, Travis Kochsmeier; and the undergraduate general music methods class members. Elizabeth Boresow is the accompanist.

KUYC has performed the national anthem at a KU men’s basketball game and for the Chancellor’s Holiday Reception this year. The choir will be performing a variety of music for their concert, including several pieces directed by the graduate and undergraduate students.
