KU School of Music Youth Chorus to perform spring concert

Friday, May 6, 2011

The KU Youth Chorus (KUYC) will present its annual "informance" concert on Thursday, May 12 at 5 p.m. in Murphy Hall, Room 328.

KUYC is a non-auditioned choir for children in grades four through eight. During the year, KUYC has performed at the KU men's basketball game and the Chancellor's holiday reception. The group currently has 14 members who are in KU's production of Hansel and Gretel. The choir is directed by Dr. Debra Hedden, associate professor of music, and Mrs. Ashley Allen, a doctoral student at KU; the undergraduate general music methods class members also assist. Ms. Elizabeth Boresow is the accompanist.

The concert is free and open to the public. Contact the KU School of Music for more information at 785-864-3436. www.music.ku.edu
