KU University Band and Symphonic Band to perform ‘Sands to Snow’ at the Lied Center on Dec. 2
LAWRENCE - The University of Kansas University Band and Symphonic Band will present a concert at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2, at the Lied Center of Kansas.
Sharon Toulouse, assistant director of bands, will conduct the University Band program featuring A Galop to End All Galops by Warren Barker; Down a Country Lane by Aaron Copland and Ye Banks and Braes O’Bonnie Doon by Percy Grainger, which will be guest conducted by Allison Cockshaw; Caribbean Hideaway by James Barnes; Song for Lindsay by Andrew Boysen, Jr.; and Let the Bells Ring by Robert Buckley.
Matthew O. Smith, associate director of bands, will conduct the Symphonic Band program featuring Overture to The Drum-Major’s Daughter by Jacques Offenbach; The Sussex Mummers’ Christmas Carol by Percy Grainger, guest conducted by Allison Cockshaw; and Southern Harmony by Donald Grantham.
