KU Youth Chorus seeks students for eleventh season
LAWRENCE – The KU Youth Chorus (KUYC) will begin its eleventh season at the University of Kansas at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 22, 2015 in KU's Murphy Hall Room 328.
The KUYC is open to all children grades four to eight. There are no auditions to become a member of the KUYC, but registration is required. Tuition is $65 for the 2015-2016 school year.
KUYC provides youth participants a professionally-organized singing experience, and offers a laboratory environment for graduate and undergraduate music education majors at the KU School of Music to develop and enhance their conducting and rehearsal skills. Debra Hedden, KU director of music education, is the director of the KUYC.
The group will perform at the Chancellor's Holiday Reception at KU, a KU basketball game, and a final spring performance on May 5.
Weekly rehearsals take place from 4:30 to 5:45 p.m. on Thursdays in Murphy Hall room 328. For more information, visit https://goo.gl/94IvF4.
