Visiting artist Ronald Barron will present master class at KU
Visiting artist and acclaimed trombonist Ronald Barron will visit KU for a residency on Feb. 15-16, 2010. On Feb. 15 at 4:30pm, Barron will present a master class in Swarthout Recital Hall, and he will perform at recital on Feb. 16 at 7:30pm in Swarthout. Barron was principal trombonist of the Boston Symphony Orchestra from 1975 until his retirement in 2008. He has performed all over the world as a trombone soloist, has nine solo recordings to his credit, and recorded and performed with the Canadian Brass, the Summit Brass, and the Empire Brass. These events are free and open to the public and are part of the KU Masters Series in Brass & Percussion. Barron's residency is made possible by a generous grant from the Zakoura Family Foundation & Reach Out Kansas, Inc.
