Join us this summer on the beautiful campus of the University of Kansas for another season of Midwestern Music Camp. Taking place June 8-12 & 15-19, this is your opportunity to participate in real growth opportunities as a musician, work with world-class performers and conductors, meet other students from across the country, and have a great time!

Since 1936, Midwestern Music Camp has offered opportunities for middle school and high school musicians in concert bands, orchestras, and choirs and high school organists and jazz musicians.

For each camp session the general schedule looks like:

Sunday

Arrive and check in. Resident hall campers check into their rooms. Everyone attends an all-camp meeting at Murphy Hall and chairing auditions take place along with a first rehearsal that evening.

Monday-Wednesday

Daytime hours 8 AM-5 PM (approx.) Campers will spend their days in full ensemble rehearsals, sectionals, elective classes, and master classes with expert guest musicians. All campers eat lunch together at Mrs. E’s (Ekdahl Dining Hall).

Evening hours 5-9 PM (approx.) Campers participate in social activities and attend chamber ensemble performances. Commuter campers are welcome, but not required, to join in the evening festivities. Those staying through the evening will eat at Mrs. E’s which is an added expense paid at the time of the meal.

Thursday

Performance Day! Campers will prepare to perform at the Lied Center and pack up to head home that afternoon.

Optional private lessons are available at an extra cost during the Monday-Wednesday sessions. Detailed information about daily schedules will be available closer to the camp session.
