Brass Day 2025

Sunday, September 14th from 12:30pm-6:00pm

This event is for high school brass players and their band directors, and is free of charge.

The brass faculty at the University of Kansas are committed to expanding the reach of excellence in brass teaching and performance and are dedicated to promoting outstanding education for brass players in their region and across the globe. 

KU’s brass faculty include: Steve Leisring and Aaron Romm (Trumpet), Kelly Misko (French Horn), Michael Davidson (Trombone), and David Earll (Tuba/Euphonium) and they perform together regularly as members of the Kansas Brass Quintet. With a combined 50 years of service at KU, they bring a myriad of experiences as performers and pedagogues in their respective fields. 

Their collective performing and teaching careers have taken them to venues and educational institutes throughout the USA and around the world including appearances in Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Israel, Japan, Latvia, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Puerto Rico, Portugal, Russia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, and Ukraine.
