Experience the KU School of Music’s annual Collage concert—a free musical event
It’s the best way to kick off the school year! The University of Kansas School of Music is pleased to announce the return of the highly anticipated annual Collage Concert! This thrilling concert is free for the public and takes place September 14th, 7:30 p.m. at the Lied Center.
Collage is a thrilling showcase that brings together the finest talents from across the KU School of Music. This year's event features performances from several award-winning ensembles, including the Chamber Choir, Wind Ensemble, and Jazz Ensemble I. We’ll also hear from a percussion group and the KU Symphony. One of the biggest draws for audiences is the grand finale – an exciting performance by the renowned Marching Jayhawks! The band makes a very unique entry into the Lied Center and delivers a show-stopping performance that will have the entire audience on their feet, clapping, cheering, and celebrating the contagious spirit of Jayhawk pride.
"Collage is not only a celebration of our incredibly talented students, but also an unforgettable experience for many of our attendees. This is where you’ll see the best of the best here at the KU School of Music” says Dean Paul W. Popiel. “We’d like to invite everyone to join us for this event and experience the power of music.”
All proceeds from the Collage Concert benefit the Student Opportunity Fund, a resource providing essential financial support for School of Music students participating in competitions, presentations, and conferences throughout the country and beyond. Attendees can donate to the fund online at http://kuendowment.org/collage.
Admission to the Collage Concert is FREE, and doors will open at 7:00 p.m. on September 14th at the Lied Center. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis, so be sure to arrive early to secure the best seats in the house.
