Rebekah Ankrom Baker

Rebekah Ankrom Baker is a PhD student and GTA in the MEMT department. Her focus is vocal pedagogy, where she researches how pregnancy and postpartum changes affect the voice and airways. She has been fortunate to take classes with the Midwives at KU Medical Center to further this research.  

She earned her Music Education degree, with a choral emphasis, from North Central College in Naperville, IL, and her Master of Music in Voice/Opera from the Boston Conservatory in Boston, MA. She has been hired worldwide to teach and perform in various opera houses and musical theater venues. 

She is a proud military spouse and has three wonderful children. As a fellow, her goal is to create streamlined information and a community for the GTA community within the MEMT department. She also hopes to help support the already existing wonderful MEMT community in various ways.
