Biography

Roger Stoner retired from KU in 1999 after 26 years of service; 14 years as the Professor of Trumpet and 12 years as the Associate Chair of the Department of Music and Dance. At that time he joined the Eastern Illinois University faculty as Chair of the Department of Music. In January 2005 he joined the faculty at Missouri State University as Head of the Department of Music. Stoner has performed with the National Symphony, the Oklahoma City Symphony, the Kansas City Philharmonic, and the Kansas City Symphony. He also served in the United States Marine Band in Washington, D.C. Stoner has a BME degree from the University of Kansas, and MM and DMA degrees from the Catholic University of America.
