Biography —

Although graduating from high school in Corpus Christi, TX Sharon Toulouse calls Lawrence, KS home. After graduating from The University of Kansas with a bachelor's in Music Education, Sharon became the assistant director of bands at Lawrence Free State High School. Sharon pursued a Master of Music degree in Instrumental Wind Conducting at the University of Kansas.
Upon graduating, she accepted a position as an officer/conductor in The United States Army. During her Army career, she worked with The U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command Band (TRADOC) at Fort Monroe, VA, and The United States Army Field Band at Fort Meade, MD. After the birth of her son Timothy, she separated from active Army and returned home to Kansas. Sharon is the Assistant Director of Bands at the University of Kansas where her duties include working with the Marching Jayhawks, training the Drum Majors, directing the Men's Basketball Band, teaching Beginning Conducting, and directing the University Band. She continues her work with the Army as Commander/Conductor of the 312th Army Reserve Band in Lawrence, KS. Sharon was named a University of Kansas Woman of Distinction in 2016.
