Celebrating 50 years of women in the KU Marching Jayhawks

This year the KU School of Music is celebrating 50 years of women in the Marching Jayhawks! 

While there were times when women were allowed to march in the band prior to 1972, particularly around World War II, it wasn’t until the passage of Title IX when women were allowed to march in collegiate/university bands everywhere.
