KU Professor works with young musicians in Los Angeles


Professor of Clarinet Stephanie Zelnick recently wrapped up her work as Artist Faculty at the prestigious LA Phil YOLA National 2023 (Youth Orchestra Los Angeles) alongside renowned conductor Gustavo Dudamel and other esteemed faculty members from across the globe.

Over a period of ten days, Stephanie collaborated with exceptional students from Sistema programs across the United States at Pepperdine University in Malibu, California. The intensive program culminated in a breathtaking concert conducted by Maestro Dudamel at the renowned Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles. In addition to the event, faculty members also participated in a captivating chamber music concert.

Stephanie's involvement in Sistema programs both in the United States and abroad, including work in Colombia and Brazil, as well as the People's Music School in Chicago, showcases her dedication to empowering aspiring musicians and promoting social engagement through the power of music.
