KU School of Music’s popular Collage concert returns September 12 to support music students
The University of Kansas School of Music is thrilled to announce our most popular event of the year, the annual Collage Concert on September 12th, 7:30 p.m. at the Lied Center.
Collage is a stunning showcase that brings together the finest talents from across the KU School of Music in one evening. This year's event features performances from several award-winning ensembles, including the Chamber Choir, Wind Ensemble, and Jazz Ensemble I. We’ll also hear from a percussion group and the KU Symphony Orchestra. As always, the grand finale will feature the renowned Marching Jayhawks, whose explosive entry has become one of the most memorable draws for attendees, guaranteed to bring them to their feet and clapping along to show their Jayhawk pride.
“Collage is a celebration of the extraordinary talent and dedication of our students—but it’s also much more than that,” said Dean Paul W. Popiel. “The funds raised through this event help create incredible opportunities for our students, such as performing internationally or presenting research at a national conference, that simply would not be possible without the generosity of our supporters. When you attend Collage, you’re not just enjoying an amazing concert—you’re helping our students achieve dreams that reach far beyond Lawrence.”

All proceeds from the Collage Concert benefit the Student Opportunity Fund, which provides vital financial support for School of Music students participating in competitions, presentations, and conferences across the nation and around the world. Donations can also be made online at kuendowment.org/collage.
Research posters from Music Education and Music Therapy students will also be on display in the lobby. Disseminated research covers a wide range of designs and methodologies answering research questions relevant to each profession as students learn research skills and/or contribute to their respective fields.
Admission to the Collage Concert is FREE for students and children. Doors will open at 7:00 p.m., with seating available on a first-come, first-served basis, so be sure to arrive early to secure the best seats in the house. Tickets are available here.
